    How writing correctly can help your business! Use Grammarly!

    I have come across a load of bloggers and content writers that are not native English speaking. I have also come across a lot of English speaking people that do not have the necessary skills to write content when it comes to their spelling and their grammar!

    Just remember that whether you are writing a blog post or writing the description for your services here, it is vital to make your content as grammatically correct as possible.

    It does make a difference, a huge one.

    If you are struggling with writing in English do yourself a favor and use Grammarly.

    Their services are free and come highly recommended. They have just short of 5 million users and they have a rating of 4 1/2 stars.

    I am a native speaker my self, and I even find myself at times messing up on my grammar and spelling. you know I'm only human so it happens I'm going to run into mistakes. even here on SEO when i blog and stuff, i have found that there are times where i tend to run on sentences and mess up in placing my commas and periods etc . i took the time to read up grammarly and i seen that it can correct over 250 writing mistakes . i also seen that it does work with what ever and where ever you plan on typing online , which to me is very useful thanks for the advice lynne

    Jkeyz I know you're not a native English speaker. But your grammar does suffer a bit because of it. I notice you don't capitalize your I's. That's no big deal. If you want to refer to yourself as a smaller i instead of a capitalized I that is up to you. But you often don't end your sentences with periods as well. A period (full stop) lets people know the sentence has ended and that you wasn't suddenly kidnapped by aliens or something while you was writing. I'm only saying this because I've just spent the past 2 months cleaning up bad grammar in the CD. I'm not coming down on you. I'm just saying. When you're finished typing, end your sentences with a full stop. I know I know, I'm being ridiculous. But I'm a pedantic eccentric and it just looks sloppy mate so I'm only saying it for your own good!

    LOL I am giggling here about the aliens and being kidnapped.

    My mother was a stickler for good grammar and hammered it into us at home. Geez never mind the school teachers, God forbid mommy catches you making a mistake.

    I remember all the little things she told us like "i before e except after c." And another one is the difference between borrow and lend.

    My mom STILL checks my spelling and grammar, she follows all my blogs and sends me an email with corrections if I make a mistake.

    Yes everyone makes mistakes and I find often when I read through my writing to do a check I miss things. One time I even had a typo in my title which was very embarrassing when one of my readers pointed it out!

    I should be using it myself and I keep meaning to start but I haven't gotten around to it, this was meant to be helpful to others here, especially those are not English speaking.

    So it's a browser extension then right Lynne? I see it sort of works the same as how Microsofts word grammar correction tool works in that it shows you words that aren't grammatically correct in the sentence including spelling mistakes too. But obviously not everyone uses that for writing in first and for some people who's native tongue isn't in English or even those who's English and grammar isn't the best, this could prove to be very useful. I think when it comes to grammar it often says a lot about the person. When someone is making a lot of spelling mistakes and grammar errors, and they aren't making any effort to check and improve that grammar, it can really get you seen in a bad light and even put people off from ordering your services if you're a seller on here. I sometimes come across peoples service description on here that are rife with bad (and I mean really bad) spelling mistakes and grammar errors and it completely and totally puts me off from ordering. Sometimes the mistakes are so obvious as well and it makes you wonder how they did not notice it them self and why they made no attempt to correct it. I mean some of them have had their service up for years so surely they would notice it. But I think some people just don't care but don't realize that it actually can have a massive effect on your sales and reputation.

    So good find and fair shout for bringing it to the table. The more people that are using something like this, the more better reading things will be all round! Even if they don't talk English and are translating. There's no excuses for bad grammar and spelling mistakes!

    I'm using Grammarly at the moment and I find this tool very useful, though it has some limitations and it takes a long time (from my point of view) to load everything as you type.

    I really find the loading stuff an issue and I hope the paid version is faster because I want to test it for a couple of months, very curious about how much it can improve my English.

    Yes Grammarly is a very good tool. You made a good suggestion Lynne, because unfortunately many are not able to write proper descriptions, articles and other content. Not doing so really reflects badly on a person, and it could well lead him or her to look rather unprofessional, which is a pity of course, especially if you a re trying to advertise, reach out to prospective clients and increase sales.

    Yes, you are so right it looks bad and very often the seller has a great service on offerm if I look past the grammar mistakes, but I am just put off!

    I've been using Microsoft Word because its spell checker works perfect, also I've tried grammarly too and i think it works good as a free version.

    I am not a native english speaker, but i've learned a lot from them.

    I've been using Grammarly for quite some time now and I must confess that it has helped me in improving as a writer and another good thing that using a Grammarly does is that it gives you that assurances not to stop writing once you're in writing motion simply as a result of the fact that it would use red lines to show the words, sentences that need some correction. I like using this tool whenever I write.

    I use English as a second language. I have been using English as my working language for a decade. I understand the value of language skills when it comes to writing blog post, product descriptions or service descriptions. No one will hire a person if he is not using correct language. Grammarly is a great program to help with your English skills. I use Grammarly.

    I agree that you need to learn how to write correctly not only with the spelling but also with the grammar. Especially when your business is online which means your website is your main office and display center for your business. If the contents of your website have so many mistakes then it can probably not be able to attract potential customers. It is good that there are companies that provide free software like Grammarly which can really be of great help in writing chores.
