Using expired content. Good or Bad?

There are certain websites out there that show when a domain will run out and subsequently be de-indexed. You can then wait until a site has been de-indexed (Make sure it as content relating to your niche that is good) and then use another website to see what used to be on the site (This is just a method I heard online so I do not know the site's name). I was wondering if there would be any issue with me doing this and if it is safe? I read one person's reply to the thread saying that the site registered the domain again and posted the old articles and instead of the previous owner with the content that expired being penalized it was actually the guy who used the content after it had been de-indexed. So what do you think? Is this a good method or should I stay away?

I would stay away from this just because it isn't tested very much. It's better to play it safe than sorry if you want to make money from the website Using expired content. Good or Bad? Just post your own unique content and you should be safe Using expired content. Good or Bad?

Yeah as Raz said, you can't beat fresh unique content. This sounds like a lazy way of getting content on your site. Even if the site that the content is gone down and expired. And you use Waybackmachine or something to view what the content was on that site. And then use it on your own site. It still wont be seen as unique content by Google. But at the end of the day. Saying that. If you already have an authority site and it already has tons of unique content articles on it. And the content that was on the site that went down is/was good quality content. Then there will be no penalty for using that. And if it's the only version of that content, Google will still index and rank it. But if you're talking about a brand new site then this is not a good idea. You should be posting only unique content to a new site for a few months before you add other content that isn't unique. Even if the original source of that content isn't up any more.

But as said, if that content is/was good quality content. Then by placing it on your site. You will get no penalty for that. The duplicate content penalty only applies for content that is on the same site in more than one location. Not content that is taken from one site and put on another. It just only ranks the one that it found first higher than the other. Provided the other doesn't have better off-page SEO (Backlinks). Then it would rank higher most times.

And obviously, if you do use them, don't just put them as they are. Remove any links from them and replace with better links and add more content to it and improve it and expand on some areas some more in more detail here and there in the article. Google will be able to see this and see that it is an improved and updated version so really, it's a win win for recycling content. Using expired content. Good or Bad?

I hope this helps!

I do not think that it is a good idea as ultimately i still consider them to be copied, regardless of whether they were expired or not. To be on the safe side i would refrain from doing anything of the sort. It is better to post a few high quality articles that are original, and then rewrite some articles in an original way. This is quite a good way to add some more articles when you are running out of time or not able to devote much time to research and coming up with new ideas. But as others said better play it safe!

I would use "expired" content, because even those the domain name may be expired, sometimes a website copyrights and/or trademarks their content. You could face legal issues if you try to copy the expired content. Also, copying content regardless if it is expired or not is just malicious. Always go for original content that you have created, or content that you have paid others for. This way you won't have any legal troubles in the future.

I have to agree with EliteWriter and Everett on their points. I would not copy expired content and use it as my own. I just don't think it is ethical to use someone else's content, whether it has expired or not.

Regarding a de-indexed domain, well I would just be nervous about using that. I don't really have a reason for this, but it is just my gut feel about it.

Get your own domain, create your own unique, quality content and you will do great. I know this takes me work but it is the right way for you to do it.

From what I have heard and experienced online trying to take any short cuts regarding content can be risky in the long run.

Hi Hasa1015 thanks for your question. I am sure you already got some answer whether good or bad of using expired content. As per as I know expired content or domain not good for reuse any website. I think search engine or Google may get you penalize, if they understand any way. I am not sure how they will understand or what is the process. But, I should suggest to you, please use fresh and unique content by your own. If you do not have enough time hire someone for writing unique content. That should love Google for getting search result for quality content.

Pardon my ignorance but what is de-indexing means? My understanding of it is that the website will be deleted. Am I correct on this? And the contents of the website is considered expired? If that is the case then what is the problem in copying the contents? Pardon me but I don't see the point of calling it expired content. But anyway, like the others here, I would prefer to write my own content or probably have a writer. New contents and not copied whether the site is dead or whatever. It's always safe to have a freshly-written content.

I must warn you not be carried away by using such trick for it might backfire in the future and that means losing some money as well. So, it is better to stick to writing your original content and making money out of it as well. However, if you want to take such risk, it is still cool anyway.
