IMPORTANT MESSAGE TO BUYERS - DELIVERY TIMES

I've come across an issue: I'm telling buyers everywhere something they should know.

My delivery time is set for one day, but it could be a lot faster than that. Buyers usually don't respond for about two hours. In that two hours the service that they ordered could have been done already.
I'm really tired of this because after they order I wait around for a response, I'm sitting around to get to work.
So to buyers, the delivery time all depends on when you send us information, once we get that I can get done in about an hour. Don't blame us for delivery, when you're the people that we need to tell us what you want so we can get started.

Thanks,

Oh dear! Well, here here! I got an order just yesterday where the buyer didn't provide the details for it to get started. After some time had passed I sent him a message asking him to do so so I could get started on it. It was only today that he done that for me. IMPORTANT MESSAGE TO BUYERS - DELIVERY TIMES

Some people just aren't in a real rush to get the work. Or they have ordered and placed order but can't actually provide the details until a little while later not realizing that would be the case until they read your instructions to them in the order to get started.

Also some people just don't understand the process of how it works and what they're supposed to do. Although that is a small minority of people, there are still people that don't realize they have to do anything else like actually provide the URL or other details to get started.

So if someone has ordered from you, go easy on them as they might not know about how things work round here as well as you do and it may be that they have a legitimate reason for not providing those details to you in time.

If someone does place an order but doesn't update it after about an hour or so, send them a polite message asking them to provide the required details to get started with a hyperlinked URL to the order. You can also ask them here if they have any questions about it.

In some cases, it could be that they will be waiting for you to contact them before they even do provide the required details. Also if they do not do so or respond after some time (leave it at least half a day) then contact support about it who can message them for you.

But yes you're right in that a buyer who wants things done in a rush can't complain when they don't provide the required details until a long time after. But just remember there is maybe a good reason for this.

And never let your frustration show to your buyer no matter how late they are in providing the required details! Always be courteous and professional and thank them as they are your bread and butter remember and could go on to be a life long client. IMPORTANT MESSAGE TO BUYERS - DELIVERY TIMES

Hope this helps Nextant!

Regards,

Mike.

I think this needs to be changed in one way or another as many sellers seem to be dealing with this issue. I do - and quite often. At times I know who the buyer is as he contacted me with a message, and so I can enlighten him to input the instructions as otherwise I won't even be able to access the order. But other times you just get the message that someone bought a service, but you do not know who it is. It is quite frustrating as I prefer to get started and complete orders asap.

Perhaps it would work better that the Buyer needs to enter all the details for the order before they enter their payment details? Or would this maybe reduce the amount of orders?

I think it would be better as it could help to reduce this problem or remove it once and for all. I am not sure what the whole process is like as I never was a buyer here. But I think it could be done, something like a large font and highlighted STEP 1 of 3 for example; It should be something that anyone can understand easily, that there are 3 steps to be completed for example, in order to complete the ordering process. Buyers would thus be aware that they are not done ordering unless all 3 steps are completed.

EliteWriter the steps taken now when ordering don't include adding any info, obviously. The order is paid for and then you are taken to a page that says the order can't be started until you enter the information needed but maybe some people don't read it?

So yes maybe making entering the relevant information as part of the the order process it would make it a lot easier for everyone.

I usually enter my information as soon as I have placed my order.

I see, thanks for your explanation from a buyer's perspective. I guess many do not read it then, or maybe they think they are going to see to it later, and just forget or something. This is like buying something and not paying for it immediately - I never do it, I always have the habit of completing everything immediately, but I guess not everyone thinks like me.

I think like you. I like to get things done as soon as possible.

I also always want my order done as soon as possible which means it must be started as soon as possible.... it makes sense that the only way to do this is to give the seller the information they need.

I am sure other buyers don't want their orders delayed which is why I don't understand how this is a problem.

It should all work fine, but obviously there is a flaw somewhere.

Yes it does! The true value of a client. I just want people to have a great experience; fast delivery.

I once had a buyer who placed an order and then did not input the instructions, so obviously I could not access it. About 2 months later he decided it was time to do so! That was one of the most extreme cases! But I do get this 'failure to submit instructions' issue regularly. It bothers me because from the email you do not know who actually placed the order. So sometimes you cannot contact him. I believe this is a very real and recurrent problem for sellers and wish something could be done so that buyers are more responsive when ordering.

Geez 2 months, that is hectic LOL.

Oh that is a let down that you don't know who placed the order? Does that info only come once they have given the information?

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

EliteWriter
Yes. This is the email sellers get:

Hey EliteWriter,

Congratulations! Someone has purchased '[and here is the title of your service]'.

We are waiting on the buyer to finalize the order and until then you will not be able to see it in your seller control panel, but we thought you might like to know that you'll have a job soon. IMPORTANT MESSAGE TO BUYERS - DELIVERY TIMES Once it does appear, you'll be able to administer it here: [and there is a link]

Oh I see, it might be a good idea for sellers to get the buyers name right?

Thanks for the head's up. So far I haven't run into this, but I am relatively new.

I think that some customers may not have all the information needed or readily available to start an order at time of purchase and this could delay a start of an order. Idea: Maybe listed services should also show the sellers requirements to start an order so, a customer knows what to expect in advance.
