Write the reason you're deleting this FAQ
Whenever I'm on Youtube, they insist on showing the weirdest video previews in the side bar menu - such as this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oN3vthNMkzI (not sure why they think I want to watch that specific video, but it's ALWAYS there and I'm creeped out by the idea of seeing it, even if only at the side of my eye).
I'm subscribed to TheRichest, but this is not my taste in video, so again unsure of why it's showing up as being 'Recommended' when it's not something I would ever watch. :/
Whatever I'm watching, whatever topic, it shows up.
I just want to hide it or make it stop showing, without having to unsubscribe from that channel.
Is there a way to get this done, to hide the video so it's not showing as a 'recommended' video for me?
Maybe not a big deal for anyone else, but a huge deal for me. Thanks in advance for any help or advice you can provide.

This it's not an option that can be disabled because it's the algorithm of youtube,but you can reset your watch history, because those videos are based on your watch & search history.
Go to : ?https://www.youtube.com/feed/history, click "Clear all watch history" and then click "Pause watch history" .

YouTube watch history makes it easy to find videos you recently watched and improves your video recommendations. You can control your watch history by deleting or pausing your history. You can delete individual items or delete your entire history. When you pause history, any videos that you watch while history is paused won't show in history and won’t be used to improve your recommendations. You can unpause your history to start recording history again.

It might not be the perfect solution for you but it's a viable workaround.
Hope it helps! You could always hide parts of your screen on YouTube if you use a 3rd party app called "[b]TunnelVision[/b]". With TunnelVision installed you can blacken out part of your screen. This is done automatically, and one of the options how it could look like is shown on the screenshot below. You can also change this so it just blackens out the sidebar on YouTube. For instance, you can change the diameter and shape of the visible part.
