Games that distort on start up

Some games that I try to play on my computer look distorted. I have a wide screen for my PC and the game tries to start at full screen and then the game looks distorted. Is there a way to stop games from starting in full screen mode?

The game is likely using the wrong graphic settings. If you have a large screen then you should adjust the graphic settings so that it shows a smaller game window size.

Are you using the right operating system? Some older games require a different operating system and won't run properly on Windows 8 or 10 - check the requirements before loading the game.
