    There are many hosting companies which offer free hosting, but for anything serious I would recommend a VPS hosting.

    I agree $0 is offered by many companies around the web, just make you check to see what the specs are first.

    However, free won't cut it if you plan on running something bigger than just a portfolio.

    The lowest I paid was $3.99 for my current hosting. Though I have paid $10 or more for hosting. There are so many really affordable options for hosting available now, you don't have to put up with substandard or free hosting with ads.

    Okay I've just gotten an amazing deal! Since I was contacting local web design companies in my area (some of which sell hosting) one of them has offered to host all my websites free for a year on his cheapest plan (costs £60/year normally) and I get it for free as he's into supporting local people.

    Just a note to others, it may be worth contacting local web companies and getting on the subject of being "sponsored" and see where you end up.

    I subscribed to NameCheap hosting two years ago. The first year shared hosting cost me $9.88 for three websites. the renewal price was $29, which cost me less than $1 for one website. Recently, I have subscribed to a new hosting plan, I am paying just $3 for the first year hosting.

    The cheapest hosting came from Namecheap for both the domain and hosting cost me $14 and I'm happy with it, because their services is great,no downtime and the loading speed is good.The support system is quick and answers all queries speedily.

    To be honest I would definitely not agree that namecheap hosting is cheap Cheapest price for hosting They offer quite a good initial price, but this goes up massively on renewal. I use cheapwebhosting-uk.co.uk for my web hosting which I pay £10 a year for!!!!
