FTP and hosting

Does your host company provide FTP or do you have to use one of your own to connect to your host space?

My host company provides FTP space where I can upload files directly. To upload a file with my FTP space, I simply click the browse button and look in my own computer for files I want to upload. I don't even have to use FTP software for this.

You could always use Smartftp which is a free software from Smartftp.com. It really works good, so long as you have access to your online FTP space. Just connect using the ftp address and the login details and you can upload directly from your computer.
