Does your webmaster need to know the domain login?

My webmaster insists that I give him the login for everything including hosting and domains so he can maintain that. I feel hesitant. Is this necessary?

No one needs that much access to your domains. And, giving them access could risk losing your domain.

Use the Account Administrator feature of your account to grant access levels to others who need to manage domain names in your account. This will limit what the person can do with the domain on your behalf so you won't lose it.

Sharing any login information with a stranger is always a big risk. Even if you think you know that person they might have ulterior motives and wait until opportunity presents itself to steal something very valuable such as a domain. And, there might not be much you could do to get it back.
