Domain names stolen from under you

There are times when you might ask for suggestions for a domain name on a forum. But, all these suggestions are public. Was there ever a time, when you asked for site domain name suggestions but then one of the site domain names suggested was used by another forum member before you could use it?

The only advice that I could offer would be to not say your favorite domain name you are planning to use on a public forum as the information can be seen and taken by anyone. If someone else offers the suggestion for a domain name, you should use it as quickly as possible as others will also have access to the name too.

To protect yourself, you should never ask for help with your domain publicly, but do so privately. Ask for any responses to your questions be given to you by PM to protect the anonymity of the domain name.
