    Email marketing vs Social marketing

    One of the many reasons to love social marketing (such as tweeting, updating Facebook pages, pinning photos on Pinterest) over email marketing is that you are creating a treasure trove of searchable material online. Your posts on these social sites such as Pinterest and Facebook can be easily found for weeks or years after they are made. And, unlike emails,, which are often seen as a spam, tweets and status updates are usually welcomed. What are some other advantages that social marketing has over email marketing?

    I much prefer social marketing as well. Spam is what most of the emails do end up as, and they do not get read, while when you post something on a social site, it will most likely get read.

    I like using social marketing as well. I think that it is easier to do, and is not seen too much as spam. I feel this way because many times on social sites, your followers are following you because they want to and will not mind seeing your posts about what you are offering.

    I know of several people who were into email marketing before. It was good business for them because they charge a good amount per thousand of emails. Their team have collected a huge number of email addresses that is sorted by location. So if you need to market by email to a particularly country, you can call on them. However, with the emergence of the social media, it seems the email marketing has become obsolete. Yeah, it is now the era of social media marketing and all we can do is to join the bandwagon.
