    It might be a good idea to summarize what your video is going to be about in the first few seconds of the video to let the viewer know what you will be covering. This is useful to let the person know where you are going so they know they're not wasting their time. And, in that way, they are more likely to stick around till the end. You could also talk about the things you want to discuss and give a general over view of the subject. Give other Youtube tips.

    Get onto Youtube and find people who are watching videos that are similar to yours. These people will make comments on other similar videos. Try to get their attention by commenting directly under their comment. If you seem like a fun person, they will come to your channel to check you out and watch your videos too.

    In one writing workshop that I had attended, the speaker said that the first page of the screenplay should be very, very interesting because it constitutes the first minute of the film. It is called a hook that will keep your audience watching. In a Youtube video, I guess it’s the same thing but the hook should be in the first 10 seconds or so. That will keep the viewers on their seat and continue watching. Much more if the video has a story to tell, it’s good if the hook is mysterious or suspenseful.
