    Anonymous comments on Youtube

    Is there a way to anonymously comment on Youtube videos? Right now, I have to sign into my Google+ account but it would be better if anonymous comments were allowed without sign in.

    I'm sure there is a reason they don't want anonymous comments. With anonymous comments, there is a greater chance of spam as the person posting has no accountability. By requiring people to sign in to comment, they know who made the comment and can follow up with appropriate actions.

    Maybe this is why Google requires the login now, rather than how it was before. If you misbehave on Youtube comments, they are likely to shut down the entire Google account and most people won't risk that.

    Anonymous comments don't really help the channel owner, who needs to see which Youtube users are commenting and liking their videos. The information gained helps the channel owner know how to target their videos better.

    I would kind of be afraid of getting anonymous comments from other Youtube users as then I could not respond back to them.

    Anonymous comments would defeat the purpose of having a Youtube channel as you would not be able to 'advertise' your channel everytime you make a comment. Unless of course, you did not want your name appearing on that comment for some specific reason.

    There are some trolls on YouTube who would like to comment without being found out. Those people might want to comment without a username. I can't think of any reason other than that for a person to comment not signed in.
