How do you deal with choppy video?

On Youtube, my homemade videos, created via web cam always look blurry or choppy. And, I'm not sure if this is related to a Youtube problem or my webcam. I need advice on how to make my webcam videos look clearer when they are uploaded to Youtube.

Shut down any unneeded browser tabs or computer applications or software which you are not currently using. Then try running your webcam again to see if the quality has improved.

Disable hardware acceleration, which is an option on the permissions box that appears when you first try to use your webcam on Youtube. The hardware acceleration can cause some computers to run more slowly, which could lead to video lag.
