    Can you buy or sell a Twitter username?

    If you find a Twitter username that you really like or which fits your industry, can you simply make an offer to the account owner to buy it? This might be a keyword specific username, which would match your site or forum exactly.

    I am not sure if you can sell it. I would think that twitter may be against this but I am not really sure.

    Of course you can although I don't know if that violates the TOS for twitter (selling accounts).

    You would be able to try and make a offer to the account owner, but it could violate the TOS of twitter.

    You can do pretty much anything so long as no one finds out. But that doesn't mean it's legal or within the TOS of Twitter.

    However, it says so clearly in Twitter TOS:

    You may not buy or sell Twitter usernames.

    That doesn't mean others aren't or haven't. I'm sure there is a risk the account would be banned if they found out.

    I wouldn't do it, only because I like using Twitter a lot and getting my IP banned would prevent me from using my Twitter account.

    I don't think you can do it but people sure do it! They sell it whenthey have enough followers, especially for newbies that don't want to spend
    that much time gaining the followers. I have seen this too with Instagram
    accounts. These is particularly helpful when you want the account to sell
    products and don't want to invest time in gaining followers so instead you
    invest money on it. But they sure are really expensive!
