How would you know if someone hacked your Facebook account?

Is there a way to find out if someone else has gained access or logged into your Facebook account?

I want to know if anyone is logging in from another IP. They tell you that kind of information on Gmail but not sure about Facebook.

Most likely you will know that someone else has been on your account as they will likely have been sending spam messages to others on your account, pretending to be you.

If you get alarmed or angry private messages from others on your friends list or family members asking about some mysterious message you have recently sent, that is a sign that a stranger was on your account.

You should change your password immediately and report the issue.

Facebook will also list all recent IP addresses that have accessed your account under the Account - Security settings. You should check that too and submit evidence of the same when you file a help ticket with Facebook.

I don't like the idea that someone could be on my Facebook account. You couldn't know what they had looked at if that person did not send messages. They might be reading old messages or looking at the contents of your private posts on friend profiles. You just don't know.

Whenever I would log in to my Facebook account in another place using the local IP there, I get a message on my email that someone had accessed my Facebook account. And if that was not me then I can click the link that was provided. And if it’s me then I just ignore the email notice. I guess the same will apply if some other person would be accessing your account. That means you have to check your email everyday since you will be informed of a possible hacking via your email.
