Recovering a suspended Facebook account

A friend of mine had her Facebook account suspended for using a fake name. Is there a way to get the Facebook page back. She has so many family photos on that page. I'm sure she will be sad to lose all that.

I have a friend whose account was also suspended because someone was claiming the account to his name. Facebook required my friend to submit an image of a government ID to substantiate his claim. However, after submitting the ID, the account remained suspended until such time that my friend has lost interest and just created a new account.
