Starting a Facebook fan page out of love

Would you ever start a Facebook fan page purely out of love, such as because you are a fan of a certain actor or movie? Or, do all fan pages have to be started for money reasons?

I have done this before and created a few Facebook pages, none of them for like a website or project or anything, I just made them because I liked what they were about and wanted to talk about it and share photos, etc..

One was about Celtic FC (my football team) and the others where just random funny pages when I was a bit younger. I don't have any of them anymore though, all the Facebook pages I have now all have a website to go with them, and a Twitter as well.

One was about Celtic FC (my football team) and the others where just random funny pages when I was a bit younger. I don't have any of them anymore though, all the Facebook pages I have now all have a website to go with them, and a Twitter as well.

Having a Facebook page for a hobby or personal passion is always a fun idea. And, maybe it's a more worthwhile pursuit than Facebook games which so many people waste time with.

If you love something that much you might consider a blog platform such as Tumblr that allows you to openly monetize with advertising or even Blogger where you can sell ad space. On Facebook, you would be lucky to earn any money. Though what you said about starting the page for love, just keep the future in mind. At some point, you might want to earn money from your passion.

A colleague’s niece is an admin of a fan page of a formeraction star. Former means the action star is not popular anymore. But the niece
is still getting likes and comments to the posts in the said fan page. I have
seen the passion of that girl and she doesn’t mind spending much time on that
Facebook fan page for nothing, I mean no compensation whatsoever. Yeah, just
for the love of her idol huh.

I don't think I would be able to run a page out of love unless it is one that is related to football and I'm in love with the players being discussed on the page. Aside from that, it is money reasons will make me start one page.

A Facebook Page can be made to accommodate a lot of things. It could be a Fan Page, a Hobby Page etc. I got several pages like a Movie Page where I post a lot of new and old movies, an Anime Page where I post a lot of Anime series and movies. It could be anything that you would like it to be. You could also link your groups to a page. But I really prefer Facebook Groups nowadays because it has a lot of interaction and it's more fun.
