    SEO and article length

    Is there a maximum page length that Google will index? For instance, if you have a 5000 word article or tutorial on a page, would all of it get indexed? Or, do they just stop crawling the page after a certain length? I'm asking so I will know whether or not to post short or long articles.

    Yes, all of the article would get indexed. Free eBooks are a good example to prove the same. Try to look for a phrase on the Google that is only mentioned in a free eBook and to your surprise that free eBook will be on the top of Google search for the phrase.

    See it does not matter the content length but the content should be unique and it should useful for the user because search engine will always prefer for unique content

    I think that it's not about the length that much matters rather it's the quality that matters the most. This is the only reason content is often referred as King of SEO.

    Yes, content must be unique. Longer is better but it should not mess up the quality of the text.

    Google will indexed all the content write on page so content is qualitative and unique to catch a good expression from google.

    600-700 words for an article is good. But you have to make sure that content must be fresh and unique.

    Google wants a long article, however, no one can answer how long should the article be. Some say you need 1500 words in order to convince Google. When I was writing on hubpages, I was told to write 1500 words article. I no longer write on hubpages, however, I still have long articles on hubpages. Some of these articles are 2000 words. Some of my long articles have high bounce rate and some of my articles are on the top in given keywords. The most important point is how you deliver the information.

    Based on one discussion when I was co-blogging, the length of a blog must not be shorter than 2 pages of word document. Of course, it can be as long as you want but for purposes of the websites’ ability to handle long pages, it is recommended to be 10 pages of word document as the maximum. Articles are similar to blogs and I guess those measurement also apply to article length that you are asking about. But for my personal opinion, articles with a length of 3 to 5 pages of word document is the best, not too short and not too long for reading.
