Why do some forums rank so well on Yahoo but not Google?

Have you noticed how some forums will rank on first page of Yahoo for a search term but not rank highly at all on Google? Why does this happen?

Yahoo is powered by Bing and so Bing uses different criteria for their ranking.

i dont think so yahoo and bing not relay on forums in rank just too little google yes rank forums posts in front page

From the readings that I have done on the discussions in this forum, I learned that search engines have their own algorithm. That is the formula or parameters used by the search engine to evaluate the relevance of a website vis-à-vis the keyword or keywords that is being searched. And having different formula or parameters, it is only logical that the search list of the search engines will not be the same.
