    Bounce Rate from Social media and Ranking

    I observed site having high bounce rate for social media traffic. If bounce rate is a ranking factor, will this social media traffic bounce rate cause my rankings to drop?

    ranking depends on various things and bounce rate is one of them. If you have a very big bounce rate, then your website will be ranked poorly. Lower the bounce rate better the ranking
    Social media sharing can increase your bounce rate. You share on social media in a hope to get traffic. Since you have loyal followers on social media they will click the link, however, if your content is not attractive they will immediately leave the page. This will increase bounce rate.

    I didn’t know that bounce rate has something to do with the ranking of the site in the search engine search results because it is just the time that the visitor spends on a particular web page. But I understand that the treatment of social media is not the same as the treatment of search engines on sites so maybe the bounce rate on social media has an effect somehow on the rankings although I guess it is just slight.

    Social media sharing can get you high bounce rate because your loyal followers are likely to click anything you share, however, if you are not providing useful content they will immediately leave the site. However, there is a benefit of social media sharing because whether your followers visit the link or not or even leave the site immediately, you can still benefit from the likes your posts garners. The likes, shares, upvote are counted as social signals and these sends signals to search engine that people are liking the content. This will help you get a better ranking.
