Videos and duplicate content

Can a video ever create duplicate content? So for instance, if you transcribe a video and have the transcription on a page. Would that equal duplicate content if you had the video on the same page too?

yes sure if same transcibe and video that youtube will count it as duplicate content and will not rank well in search engines

When you say transcription of a video, my idea of it is the text that explains the video. Am I right on this? I don’t think the transcription of a video can be considered a duplicate of the video since the medium is different and the contents are also not the same. I guess you are just confused with the word duplicate since reading the transcription is just like watching the video but it is not really.
