    Will a change of host affect search engine ranking?

    I am considering a change of host for my blog. Will this likely affect my search engine ranking for my keywords or is there a way to work around this?

    If you move your contents from your existing blog on old host and keep everything the same (posts, links...) it will NOT affect your SERP!!

    You are just changing your host, and not changing your content or website, therefore, change of host will not affect your ranking. Having said the ranking might be affected in one condition, if the new host provides greater speed for your site, your rank will substantially improve. If you get lower speed, your rank might decrease.

    I guess you are right that if the new host is not the same in terms of speed of internet access then it might cause a slight difference in the SEO since the speed of displaying the web page is a factor with the search engines. With the change in hosting, the domain and the addresses remain the same so there should be no issue about it.

    Moving your website from one host to another host is just like moving your money from one pocket to another pocket. It is just a little bit of technical thing such as moving database from one hosting account to another hosting account. Change of host does not change your link, your keywords, meta descriptions etc.
