    If I remember correctly what I had read in one discussion about dark web search, it is the crawler that goes to the sites that are not inhabited by the crawlers of major search engines. Google crawlers cannot cover the entire internet because it is one huge area. The part that is not covered by Google crawlers is considered dark web that can be searched using other search engines like Ask dot com.
