I will also go for social media to do the marketing of my site because social media is the most fertile place for marketing in terms of people. The more people there are in a place, the more the business that it can give us. You can promote your site by posting on your Facebook timeline or tweeting about it. But you have to be prudent because you cannot post every day. Posting too often in social media is tantamount to spamming and your account may be suspended.

You can't expect to make it easy.. But if you have some dollars, you can try PPC or some other Facebook or Social Media promotion!
It depends on what kind of site you have, but if you are solely thinking about using organic search to bring in that much traffic, it will take if not years, at least months (assuming only using whitehat SEO).
