Both on page content creation and off page linking are still important. But, keep the content quality high and focus on getting a few really good backlinks from important sites, not just massive quantities of backlinks from a variety of sites.

I am for the content creation because that is the foremost of the basic SEO methods. Content is king so let’s give the king the utmost importance. Write unique and original contents and upload regularly to your website. I think that is the best strategy because content is not only for SEO capability but also for the readers of your website. And if your content is very interesting, the readers may even promote it on their social media accounts as what I sometimes see.
