If your site has expired hosting for a few days will it affect your placement in Google search?

I wonder how long it would take to recover from that, if it happened. For instance, if you lost hosting for a few days or week and lost your place in Google. How long to regain spot in search engine?

After some time, I'm sure down time on hosting could affect your placement for keyword terms in Google.

It will affect it directly and indirectly! When users reach your site and find it down, they will come back to searches results (pogo sticking) and you'll record a 100% bounce rate that is bad signal sent to search engines. Thus, your competitor will rank higher that your website till you decrease completely in ranking!
