    What's your best SEO advice?

    The thing I always suggest when people talk about Google algorithm changes and instability in how sites are ranked is to simply go back to basics. Publish highest quality articles on your blog or site, update daily if needed. Add new content to old posts and pages, make things interesting for your readers (Google loves it when you cater to your readers). And, just keep going at a steady pace. Google will run to catch up with you. Also, don't forget to constantly reread the Google Webmaster TOS help pages. They contain a ton of great info on what you should be doing now. Sometimes a good reread will glean new info you missed first time around.

    I feel that the best tip ever is good content. Content will always be king in my book. Follow the rules and have great content and you are on your way.

    Dear Beverly, yes I do agree with you, but to keep pace with the Google algorithm changes the best way is spying your competition. If you know what points are there in the top ranker site or page of the google search, you can better understand the Google algorithm required for your site. And this is the best way I think.

    The best advice I can give is make sure you research your keywords properly. Target the wrong terms and you might be wasting money trying to compete against companies spending tens of thousand a month on seo...if you have the budget then sure

    kw research is the most essential part in seo yet the #1 most overlooked. ironic? i think not... everyone is in a hurry these days. especially younger kids who are the same age as when i got started, they have no patience for link building or proper research anymore. but another key element is diversity What never put all your eggs in one basket ;)

    If we're talking off page SEO then I would say my best piece of active would be not to just go and starting building/buying any links that sound good or claim to be good. Do some proper research or you may harm your site before things even really get started. Recovering from things like this is easier now with the disavow tool Google offers but that only helps so much in the grand scheme of things.
