    Why is spun articles considered original content?

    If spun articles are based on original content, but merely with synonyms or alternate phrases inserted at various points, why would that qualify as original content? Or, would it be original content? What's your thoughts.

    Because it has high percentage of uniqueness as article spinning tool is able to provide good no. of synonyms... only one disadvantage of spun content is that it is not readable.

    I think that if it is done correctly it can be considered to be original. As long as there are no copied phrases and all, then I think it is fine.

    Spun articles can never become original articles, in fact, spun articles are always a duplicate content. Duplicate means similar content exist. Just by using synonyms and rephrasing, your article cannot become an original article. You may pass copyscape, but your content will always be a duplicate content.

    But, how does a spun article serve the needs of the reader if it's unreadable? If the article is barely coherant and doesn't make sense, then by definition it would be violating Google's TOS which insists that webmasters and bloggers create content that helps the readers. Apparently spun articles are more for search engine benefit than readers.

    Google would not consider spun articles to be original as they are often nonsense as was mentioned before.

    I think that people are confusing different types of spinning. Auto-spinning (even using the latest and best hyped-up tools) produces substandard and often unintelligible content. On the other hand when content is spun either fully manually or semi-manually (software assisted plus human readability check) it can be of high quality. Uniqueness can also be increased by spinning at several levels (i) paragraph, (ii) sentence, (iii) word/phrase, and then (iv) using different numbers of paragraphs, (v) in different sequences. Yes, it takes time and effort but it's worth it.



    What is the difference between the manual/semi-manual spinning and simply rewriting an article? Or, would that be considered the same thing?

    A spun article can make sense if you use a combination of software and human editing, though that will increase your costs.

    I don't think spun article are original contents. In fact, spun aricles are termed as duplicate articles by Google. Since there is nothing original in the spun article except the order of words and synonyms, it is a duplicate content, you can even call it plagiarised content.

    I haven’t seen a spun article yet using automated method. But according to some discussions that I came across, a spun article can sometimes be considered a copy of the original. I really don’t know what that means. And to be on the safe side, I would prefer to re-write the article manually so the sentence construction will be different and more likely the paragraphing will also be different that no one can say it has relation to the original article.
