    Do old domains help search engine ranking?

    Does it help with your search position in Google when you buy and use an older domain? For instance, a domain that has already been backlinked from numerous sources? Does that give you a headstart on SEO?

    I think if you have a good track record for the domain, it will surely help. once blacklisted, it is difficult

    Unless the domain is backlisted or has been used for illegal sites, the old domain has an edge on search engine ranking. Search engines trust old domain more than the new one. In some countries, your domain should be at least 6 months old in order to apply for adsense.
