    Duplicate content in pdf files

    How does Google deal with duplicate content in pdf files? For instance, sometimes a web site owner will distribute a pdf file online and others will download and then re-upload again to their own server. If you think about it, a pdf file done like this is duplicate content. So possibly the file wouldn't rank highly on any site. What's your view on this?

    Why would it matter if your pdf file ranks high, when you could just as easily upload to a highly ranked/high traffic page and get more downloads from there?
