    dofollow links you direct to your website but nofollow does not. but having a mixture of dofollow and nofollow is good so as to make your website links look so so natural and real.

    Dofollow links will be crawled by search engines and will be considered as a backlink for the website.
    Nofollow links will not be crawled by search engines but can help to increase the traffic to the website.

    A website should have a combination of both dofollow and nofollow links for better ranking and traffic.

    Let me try to explain if what I learned is correct. A backlink is the link of your site that you post on another site. When that site is a no-follow then the link of your site that you posted there will not be recognized by search engines. That means it will not get traffic from search engines and the only traffic it will get for your site is when a reader of that site could click on the backlink. The do-follow is the opposite such that your backlink can get traffic from a user that clicks on the backlink and also from search engines.
