    Is it possible to get a backlink from Wikipedia?

    Can you get a backlink from a high page rank, respected site like Wikipedia? Or, do these links get deleted fast?

    You can get a backlink from Wikipedia and other Wiki sites. The trick is the link from a really established wiki page has to be extremely relevant and content you link to has to be good.

    You could create your own wiki page too, that way it is easier to pass moderation, especially if the page is made ... you guessed it - with superb quality ;).

    Unless your site is the originator of source information (such as an authoritative site), you are not likely to be able to get a backlink.

    I would have to say that it is very hard to do this but like Beverly stated you must be the original source or else you can forget about it.

    It's very difficult to be the first source (or original source) of anything on the internet as most topics have already been covered extensively. Mostly the source sites for Wiki are authoritative such as WebMD and other sites which use actual experts for their articles.
