    What can you do to avoid being banned when backlinking?

    Let's say you want to join a forum so you can get a signature line. What things should you do on the forum or should you avoid doing so you won't get banned and have your signature line taken away?

    Don't rush into the forum and answer a bunch of forum posts quickly. Take your time. Post a proper introduction and then carefully pick a few discussions that might need a good answer. Provide a thorough response. Don't just restate what everyone else has said.

    If any forum allows signature then you can use it so there is no harm if you are able to use signature, but for being a long time poster in a forum, you have to contribute to the forum.

    Do backlinks in controlled manner. Also, I would suggest do 1 or 2 backlink for your competitor in negative way ;). It goes with famous saying, if you can't reach at the top, don't allow anyone else to What can you do to avoid being banned when backlinking?
