    Roughly, How Many Main Search Engines Are There?

    I know of about 5 or 6 main search engines, but how many are there roughly?
    Please reply below with a list of as many search engines as you can think of.

    Um it seems like they are coming up with new ones all the time. I think that it would be hard to give an exact number. LOL

    According to one source, there are 250 search engines available online. The number could increase or decrease based on new search engines being added or merged with others.

    Why would you need to even use more than one search engine to get search results? Even for highly specialized searches, Google provides comprehensive results.

    If you're asking for just the main, then I guess it all boils down to Google and Bing. Both share bigger markets as well as funds for their search engines.

    If we want to count major search engine then this is possible. Now currently we have some of best search engine like: Google, Yahoo and Bing. Other if you want to discuss small Search engines then there are many of search engine. You can find this on Google.

    When you say main search engines, I am assuming that you are referring to the dominant search engines in terms of traffic. From the top of my head, there are only 4 that I can consider major search engines that get millions of traffic in a day. First is Google, of course, no doubt about it, followed by Yahoo Search which is within the top 10 of the biggest websites. Third in the list of major search engines is Bing which is in the top 50 of all the websites and Ask.Com in 4th position within the vicinity of top 200 websites.
