    I think in the seo process both no follow and do follow links matter
    do follow count as back link to the site from search engine. It's important for site ranking to get quality back links.no follow doesn't count as back link to the site from search engine but it can be helpful as an traffic generate source if it's come from high pr sites.

    I think there is a way of knowing if a site is a do-follow or no-follow URL. When you post your site’s link on a no-follow site, search engines will not recognize your link and that it will not have an opportunity to be included in the search list. However, that backlink can still give you traffic if a user or visitor of that site will click on your backlink that will bring him to your site.

    jaysh4922 is right. Both dofollow and nofollow links matter in SEO. For Facebook, you cannot add dofollow links when you post but you can build a page for your website. The same with Googleplus but in G+, the first link your post is dofollow but the rest will be nofollow.

    This type of blog will allow you a do follow link after you have commented a few times. This do follow backlink is very valuable but hard to earn.

    My take on the backlinks is you build it without the need for being aware whether it is a no-follow or do-follow site because it will only confuse you and make your work harder. Let’s say you want to post to 3 sites today. Just make your post and continue with your life. If you will investigate the site regarding the do-follow or no-follow it will take a lot of time and it is not that important.
