    I agree with Beverly that the most important thing you can do is make sure that the content you have posted is fresh, unique and not copied from anywhere.

    Mostly I concentrate on quality content and manual backlinks from similar niche sites/forums. Do you make your business plan based on Google?

    Well, as they say.. don't put all your eggs into one basket.
    Make multiple sites or use multiple traffic sources because when the magical G slap comes.. you might lose all your traffic which means no money.

    Oh noo.. I have around 40 sites right now, but there are people who own 100+ and they are working well.
