What about sites that use Adsense above the fold?

Would I get in trouble for posting my Adsense ads above the fold on my blog? It took so long to get Adsense approval, so now I'm trying to be extra careful to follow the rules.

What type of content do you have on that first fold of your site? Do you have anything other than menu links or advertisements? If so, then you should not put advertisements from Adsense there. If part of your article is viewable on that first fold (where you plan to put the ads), then it might be allowable to place ads there.

No it will not be dangerous but you must ensuer that your site follow all the rules =and guidelines that adsense wants people to follow for there website as these days they are super strict if you are doing some black hat method for it ..

Don't stack so many Adsense banners at the top of your blog so that it pushes your real content too far down the page. That can get you into trouble.

Google prefers Adsense above the fold, and they recommend that in their placement guidelines, so it's fine.

Don't stack so many Adsense banners at the top of your blog so that it pushes your real content too far down the page. That can get you into trouble.

Just to clarify, here's what Google says about placement of your content or 'pushing the content' down the page.

Place your ads close to the content that your users are interested in, also make sure that users can easily find the content they are looking for. For example, if your site offers downloads, make sure the download links are above the fold and easy to find.

One good way to handle this is by using a horizontal banner above your blog post or having a block of text first (such as first paragraph of your blog post) and then an ad block followed by more content. You can see those ideas demonstrated on the link provided.

As long as you have relevant content on every fold of your site, whether above the fold or as you scroll down the page, then you will be safe with Adsense. Don't place so many ads that it causes your real content to become hidden further down the page or that can lead to issues with your Adsense account.

Google gives advice and then bans people based on the very advice they give. So don't put too much faith in what Google says, just do what feels and looks best for your site while no not going over the maximum amount of ads allowed per page.
