How much does an email subscriber cost?

How much money do you spend on everything involved in email marketing? And, what does this translate into as cost per subscriber? For instance, if you spent $1000 in a year on marketing and autoresponders and got 1000 customers, then your cost would be $1.00 per subscriber.

it all depends on the company offering the email service. different companies have its own price. ans as for the subscribers, you will use a webpage like an opt-in or squeeze page to get email subscribers.

You're not actually paying for your subscribers. However, you will have to cover the cost of your autoresponder and newsletter software, unless you use a free Wordpress plugin for emails.

You might have associated costs such as lead generation via PPC and Adwords. This could add to your costs. However, I was reading on another discussion here on this forum that for every $1 you spend on email marketing, you will earn $44 back.

I think it depends on niche and the amount of efforts being taken. Some people make dedicated emails for the subscribers. And that increases the cost of the acquisition. So it's always a good idea to reduce the cost. You have to use platforms such as app install and the pro accounts. This way the subscribers who read emails are going to be lot stronger customers. And their cost for retention reduces too. And the amount of efforts taken for the emails are reduced.

So usually for each industry the rate for the acquisition needs to be reduced over a period of time. That is something one has to consider as well.
