How many subscribers should you be adding daily?

For my blog reader list, I add around 50 new subscribers a month. My list has been going strong for well over two years, so I have a good number of subscribers to communicate with. And, though this does not sound like a lot, all these people are avid readers of my blog and interested in follow ups, so they are very qualified for my emails.

I want to add more readers to my subscriber list, but I don't know if those people would be as targeted as the ones signing up now.

About how many subscribers is right to add daily or weekly?

For an ordinary person like me, getting new subscribers to the blog is not easy because I have to find people who are interested in my niche. And although there are lots of pet lovers in the internet, again, it is not easy to invite because most of them are not blog readers. However, one blogger tipped me to join forums and Facebook Groups about my niche so I can pirate some subscribers from there. I think that 50 new subscribers a month is a good number already.
