Could Cloudflare help my forum?

I have the option to upgrade to Cloudflare for my forum but would like to know more about it and what this can do for my forum.

Cloudflare will cache your forum's image on numerous servers so that it can be online for your users even if one server is having issues.

Cloudflare is useful to prevent hacking attacks. Or, at least that's what I was reading on my hosting site. They were able to offer me a free Cloudflare update. So I took it.
