    If You Could Go Back In Time - What Would You Have Done?

    If you could go back in time, just a few years/months, to the beginning of your Freelancing career. What would you have done? Would you have done anything different?

    If you woke up today, and by the end of this topic, when you've finished reading this, you got the option to go back in time and correct any mistakes you've done, (obviously only related to your Freelancing career) perhaps change your own mindset you had when you first started, offered something else compared to what you did or still does..

    • What would you have done?

    I personally would have most likely focused on product creation right from the start rather then providing a ton of different services which I didn't even had the requires skills for.. I'm not a graphic designer for instance, but I worked several hours to earn a few bucks for logos. I would never do that if I where to start again, but I'm still glad for all the different mistakes I've done as I've also earned experience from these mistakes, but if I could, I would at least have minimized them by not doing things the same way I did.

    I guess if I were to go back I would not have wasted so much time clicking ads to earn a couple of cents after several days lol. I do not regret the ways I started off writing, although I was paid at very low rates. If I had to calculate how much I would have earned now for all those thousands of words I would be much better off. I must have spent about 4 years writing for very low rates. However I need to look on the bright side and consider the fact that thanks to those low paying opportunities my skills improved, and they helped to make me who I am now.

    I hear you! Although I've never sold content in the same way as you, I do understand your feelings. It's actually a common mistake, to sell yourself to low. Especially when you're starting out as you need to compete with all the competitors. Both when it comes to quality and quantity, but also when it comes to prices.

    That's a good question. If i could go back in time , i would like to fix some "mistakes" that i've done before in my beginning, but just because of those mistakes i've learned some things. Nobody is perfect, and sometimes mistakes give you the right lessons...

    These are my thoughts as well. My first thought would be to fix some pretty big mistakes but those mistakes are what defines me, what made me today. They all taught me something too and made what I do now so much better than what it was. Without those mistakes, I wouldn't be where I am.

    Hi hitmeasap thank for a nice question. If I could go few years. Answer is very difficult to me what I could do. I should do several task as a freelancer. I have to take well preparation as freelancer for do more effective job what I did few years before. And I also get few negative review by some buyer by very silly mistaken. If I could go few years back I should protect my profile by very good job. And as a SEOclerks base freelancer, I should jon just after Jordan as second user of SEOclerks. Over I should try to overcome from all mistaken what I did as newbie on SEOclerks.

    Depend what we are talking about here, because many things could be done different when you look at them with years of experience. But i will tell you this regarding my freelancing business, i really wish i started seriously thinking about freelancing long ago. I do this business for about 15 years, but most of time it was like side job or lets call it "extra money". However, if i put all my thoughts into freelancing and invested more time and some money in this as i was investing in some other businesses, like grocery shop, i would be glad now. I am glad anyway and it's not that grocery shop made me less money, but it's all about making money with complete freedom and much less headaches instead of having grocery shop. That's how i feel right now...

    I understand your point and I agree that it depends on how you think about it. As time goes by, you'll gain experience and because of that you'll also be able to look back and you'll be able to realize and see your mistakes much clearly. That's the actual reason for this topic. Just due to the fact that I'm interested in hearing about peoples mistakes they've made and what they would have done today, if they got a second chance to re-do anything they've done up till now.     This is a good question. If I can do back in time, I will take some courses at the start of my career and perfect my skills. I pretty much self-taught everything but I thought it would work much better if I actually took courses. It is always worth investing into self-development and the earlier you start, the better. I still take courses today on various topics to develop my skills. As a freelancer, having more skills will increase the diversity of your services which would help you generate more income. I wish I didn’t spend so much time doing the wrong things in my career and I hoped someone provided me with quality advice.

    Very great question, though I don't regret anything but I would have learned science in school than the art courses I did in school.I think I would have fared better in my career than where I am now and more importantly, I would have understood the intricacies of some life happenings and the technicalities of some scientific assertions but it still good because I'm coping well now.

    I know this topic is unreal and cannot be real even in the future. But for the sake of discussion, I would say that I want to see again the dead people who are dear to me. I am referring to my father who was very close to me. I am the youngest in the brood of 12 so it is understandable for me to be my father’s pet. He passed away in 1994 but until now I still miss him.
