    Do explainer videos rank higher than other videos?

    Do video explainer animations rank now in search engines better than any other normal videos? Is there a need for this?

    As I'm not an expert on the subject I can only give you an answer I've found.
    Forget explainer videos, does having a video on the website directly increases the chances to get better visibility in search engines? And the straight answer to that question is, NO!

    There are lots of BUT attach with it though!

    For instance, that video goes viral and you get lots of link back to the website and that page and as a result you get better rankings. Yes it all happened because of that video but directly that video didn’t really help the page get better rankings.

    Another idea could be, people (bloggers within your industry) uses that video and as a credit gives you a link back that as a results help you get better rankings.

    What I mean to say is that video itself alone cannot help you get better rankings but its just a content of the website that when go viral can produces links back to the website that have a direct impact on rankings.

    The thing is explainer videos are much easier to make now than they was before and there are a lot of professional video editors and authors that can create them for a buck or two. Even anyone can make one online for free now too and buy it or just hire someone that can do it. So these sorts of videos are in large number and are continuing to grow as a way to reach the minds and wallets of those that might be interested in whatever the video is explaining. And this is resonating with the watchers as well who are growing used to explainer videos because they explain how to resolve or fix a problem you may have or something you may need to you usually in the form of an advertisement that leads you to their website and they have a great response rate too because you can really grab the viewers attention and desires as well with by explaining a problem to them then presenting them with a solution for it.

    Plus they're pretty cool to watch sometimes too let's face it and the animators and illustrators and authors of them are coming up with ever more cool tricks for the trade and making ever more sophisticated explainer videos. It's definitely a growing trend. Searching Google Trends for explainer videos shows a massive spike in the last few years for this type of video to be used by advertisers, marketers and SEO's for their clients. So there's a definite growing trend and rise in their use. And it's probably that people are searching more for them now as well when searching for something. Example something like YouTube marketing explainer video or Affiliate marketing explainer video or something alike or amiss as that.

    By the by you can get explainer videos made for you here on SEOClerks. A quick search for explainer video shows a number of services that can do it for you for a very reasonable price I'm sure from the list you could find that diamond in the rough without too much diggin'. Or check out the top rated video creation services to find more such services from expert author sellers. Failing that, you could always create a WTB requesting this from someone and put everything out that you're looking for exactly and what your expectations are and price you'll pay etc and someone with those skills can bid on it too. Basically, lots of ways to get that on SEOClerks if you was wondering.

    But yeah, it's possibly down to that. As for if there's a need for it. Well, so long as there is people with money to spend there will always be a need for it. But be interesting how to see the industry for explainer videos grows and pans out over the next 5+ years.

    Right now the search engines can't accurately assess what the video is talking about. Maybe in the near future they will be able to have a better audio recognition for videos, but not just yet. You think they would just ask Siri to jump in and monitor some youtube videos and send back information on what the video is about Do explainer videos rank higher than other videos?

    I'm not 100% sure, but I remember reading something about video voice recognition and how it is a possibility in the near future but the technology just isn't there yet. I would think it's safe to assume that in a year or two that we'd be seeing audio recognition added to a search engine optimization feature that everyone will be trying to exploit, I know I will ;)

    The content on the video, as in the header/title of the video and the content you add in will be the main factors if you rank well for certain terms. Obviously if you don't optimize the title and content/description of the video you won't rank for anything, but we all (I think) know to optimize this. When typing up the title and description you'll still have to follow the search engine guidelines for optimizing something. Be sure to abide by the keyword density and keep it between 1% and 3%. The title should have your keyword, or two, so the search engines can more accurately assess your video and what it's about.

    You'll also need to do some off page optimization, as in backlinks, for your video in order to help rank it. Think of your video pages as your own website and build them up as so. They'll rank higher and push link juice down to your website at the same time.

    Any type of video has value on a site, not essentially only from a SEO point of view, but more with regards to the fact that people prefer to watch a video than read text. Having said that search engines love any feature that can add to the user experience.     If you find the good keywords, then you you can easily rank any videos, no exceptions.

    Pardon me for assuming that explainer videos are the tutorials. Correct me if I’m wrong in my understanding. Anyway, I think all videos are created equal and the ranking depends on the description of the video and the keywords as well. The video itself is not material when it comes to ranking because it is silly to think that the search engine crawlers would check or watch the video to know what it is all about.
