Do you think it is more profitable being a webmaster or freelancer?
I personally think this depends. You need a lot of traffic on your website to gain revenue but with freelancing, you can also use marketplaces and when you start off, you will probably earn more as a freelancing. However, websites tend to require less time than freelancing as you can always hire people to create content for you. With freelancing, of course you can create a team or outsource it but this often reduces a lot of your profit. I personally prefer being a webmaster over a freelancer because it is more flexible in my opinion.

However with freelancing, if you have the skills or know how, you can find work fairly easily if you establish yourself on freelance sites like SEOClerks and there will always be people needing things done. There's always more people looking for things than there is people that can actually do it. The harvest is plenty but the reapers are few! But it can be very rewarding in the long run being a freelancer. But I like to do both, be a webmaster and a freelancer. You could call me a freelance webmaster. You should never put all your eggs in one basket!
I'd love to hear other peoples responses to this FAQ... Ah good question! However, when it comes to a website, with a bit of research and the right skills/knowledge, you can be earning with your website in as little as 24 hours. I've sometimes been able to get an affiliate site ranking high on the first page of Google for some buyer ready keyword pretty fast. But it all comes down to research, the right domain and some great content on them. Or you can of course, start advertising that site straight away as well with Adwords or something. If you have some Adwords skills/experience, you can set up a campaign quickly for it and start getting traffic/sales immediately. And if you're selling some product that is a high price item you can make some good commission of that quite quickly. It isn't always that easy in theory and practice if you don't have the skills/know how to make it happen.
