I need a good checklist for site SEO audit

I need a really good bullet point type checklist of things to check on site when conducting an SEO audit. For instance, meta-description; image alt tags; content length, etc. What should I be looking for in reference to these factors on page for better search engine optimization.

An SEO checklist! They've improved over the years. I used to use them years ago and back then they didn't have half as many checks in them as they do now! It's kind of insane how many check lists they recommend now but they can be very very helpful in improving your rank!

One of the best ones of them all is the Clickminded one

That has actual checkboxes you tick as well as handy resources to things that are related to those things. I usually return to that one after starting a new site just to go over the lists and see if there's anything I should be doing.

My next recommendation is the one that Bruce Clay has on his site. It has 29 very important things to consider.

But if you're looking for a much more comprehensive list of things you can actually tick off as you go and then get a score for at the end which you can print or embed then check out the one on

It's possible you already know about these as they are the ones that have ranked top for "seo checklist" for a while now. There's also some great free SEO audit tools as well such as WooRank which can provide you detailed report about your site.

Thanks so much! These are really great SEO related resources. They're all good, especially like the ClickMinded SEO Audit Checklist as it has details that I would not have considered. For instance, that part about branding your site/company, very useful. I was reading how it could cost several hundred dollars for a high quality professional SEO audit. While it would be more than worth it, I'm sure there are webmasters and bloggers who don't have it in the budget.

An SEO audit is veyr important as it offers a number of ways for one to improve on the current SEO campaign. There is surely something that could be damaging your performance, and so these would need to be seen to and addresses as soon as possible. Once one takes action on such factors, improvements in the overall SEO performance can generally be noticed. It is important to carry out such an audit regularly, as well as after a new campaign has been implemented.
