What is tweet? Why is it used here?

Is it used just in seoclerk or in another website? Moreover I know that twitter is a website and tweet is a part of it.I did not know about twitter before I join here. After joining here I became familiar with many words of seoclerk. Among them tweet is one. I know tweet as a word but I do not know the inner meaning of it.

Twitter is also a micro blogging social media platform in this world. Every twitter profile owner can do tweet within a second any time form any where by staying online. Tweet basically a status update on online within 140 words and its very much popular in this world. If you use hashtag within the tweet than some time you can identify who is checking your tweet in this world. Tweet is a way where you can publish any thing including website address.
