Is blog comment still effective for link building?

Hey, guys. I have a question .I wonder whether the blog comment with a backlink is still effective for link building after big G's updates this year. I am engaged in building backlinks these days but really confused about it. Any reply will help me many time. Thank you verry much.

It depends on the blog where you are posting your comment. Of course, when there are not much readers of the blog, there’s not much to be expected as traffic from your comment. Choose a blog that is popular with thousands of readers so when you post a comment, those readers have a chance of checking your website. Don’t forget to make your comment interesting or a bit controversial to get the attention of the readers.
