Hi, It's a very good question. Everybody in SEOclerks use it .But many of them don't know the full meaning of http.The full meaning of HTTP means "Hyper-Text Transfer Protocol". I think you got your answer.

The answer is simply hyper-text transfer protocol and the one that got 's' on it, that is https, means that the website is quite secured for anyone doing transactions on those sites.
