How many steps to complete for getting good rank in search engine?

I want to rank my website higher in search engines like Google. I know SEO a little but problem is in apply. I don't know step by step SEO. Somebody please show me the steps of SEO that can help me to get higher rank in search engines.

The problem with SEO is that it is ever evolving so there is no one formula for all. It also depends on the keywords you are trying to rank for and how high the competition is. For low competition keywords, ranking is easy but expect to take longer for highly competitive keywords

i think it very simple,

1. build your site with whitehat tecnique, never did bad seo activities ( comment spamming, etc )
2. post unique and original article ( never copies from other sites )
3. generate subsciber naturaly.
4. blog commenting ( use our passion, and never use software )
5. dont use bot ( all bot )

The first step is to chart the uploading of good contents on your website. Chart means to make a schedule for a regular update and what to upload as contents. If you can upload good contents every day then that is the best for the ranking of your website in the search engine results list. Good content means unique and not copied from another website or another source and is directly related to the niche of your website.
