I'm not exactly sure about this, but I'm pretty sure it has something to do with the options or settings or preferences menu item. One of those has to be there somewhere. Go to it, select it and go to search options and set to your desired settings, my friend. Happy browsing.

This has actually happened to me before. If changing your settings doesn't help (like it didn't help me), then you need to reinstall Chrome. As long as you are logged into Chrome with your GMail acct, all your bookmarks and browsing history will still be available after reinstalling. Even my theme was intact once I reinstalled, and it restored my New Tab page perfectly. Good luck!

If another search engine are installed in your browser you should delete it because it's doing slow in your browser. And I think if you delete it after whenever you open your browser that will show your most visited site. How can you delete? just go setting>>tools>>extension.

This may happened due to installing a software on your pc. Change homepage and search engine in the google chrome settings click on = on top right corner click settings and change them according to your preferances and if you want to use other site use search?q=%s

Perhaves you install softwer and there have search engine option the you don't unmark the browser option. Change homepage and search engine in the google chrome settings click settings and change them according to your preferances and if you want to use other site use search? Hope this solves your problem. Seting-onstartup-open specific page and then click set page then delete the url.
