    google is now happy with the site that is always updated, so for backlink in my opinion less help, it would be better if you use backlinks from social media, to its usual page rank google search for sites that have unique content, and I say if you want to have a page rank high use of social media backlink

    the company you hired were using cheap backlinks, when those cheap backlinks got penalized by search engine it give your money site bad marking (bad neighborhood) thats why your pagerank were dropping
